100% Grass-Fed Lamb

All our Border Leicester cross lambs are born and raised on our farm pastures. They spend the growing season months grazing across the landscape in small groups followed by our poultry flock. They eat no grain, only fresh green grass in the summer and fall, and hay during the winter months. We worm only when we have to and prefer to use the co-grazing with the chickens and turkeys in intensive rotation to prevent parasite problems.

All year round our sheep have access to the outdoors and typically prefer to eat and rest out in the weather. The flock is happiest when the lambs stay altogether with their moms until the breeding and butchering season.

Each fall, our lambs are processed locally at The Royal Butcher-a USDA inspected facility- in Braintree, and sold to customers as either wholesale halves or individual retail cuts. This local processing facility guarantees the highest-quality finished product, keeps transportation costs low, stress on the animals to a minimum, and invigorates our local agricultural community.

A couple from Texas exclaimed the following about our lamb; “We grilled the chops for dinner and they were absolutely the best lamb we have ever had!  We hope to see you again before we leave the area so we can purchase some more to take back with us.”


Price options:

Wholesale- ACCEPTING ORDERS FOR 2010.
Lamb wholes and halves (approximately 40 lbs. per lamb hanging weight) are available at $5.50 per pound hanging weight. To order wholesale, print, fill out and mail in the The Royal Butcher cut sheet order form.. (pdf file).

Retail Cuts- SELECT CUTS AVAILABLE AND ACCEPTING ORDERS FOR 2010.
If you find you like a smaller quantity of lamb - saving particular cuts for special occasions and holidays- we offer individual retail cuts at cut-specific prices.
Our 2009-2010 retail cut price sheet will be available soon.

Lamb orders will be available for pick up/delivery around September 25 this year (2010)(the weekend AFTER Tunbridge Fair).

Spring lambs are available for sale to those who are interested in raising grass-fed lamb on their own property. Please call for spring 2011 availability and pricing.

We shear once annually, just before lambing. Border Leicester sheep have beautiful fleeces of nice natural colors and perfect crimp for hand spinning. Our beautiful brown and natural fibers are processed into roving in nearby Bristol, New Hampshire at New Found Farm Wool Works and hand-spun locally into two-ply, natural-colored yarns. We currently use all the yarn we process for family knitting and felting projects, but are looking to sell yarn and roving in the future.

Shearling fleeces are available on request. They are processed in Pennsylvania and return as gorgeous shearling rugs.
