Steers, cows, and ‘Roo’ our milking shorthorn ‘guide steer’ for the famous blind-cow (long story) lounge in the barnyard during early fall months.

Our pigs loved their home in the garden this winter. It was fun to watch them forage through the snow; they are quite the characters.
Sheep and Lamb Photos
Dan holds Raggedy’s early spring lamb ‘Fina’. They are quite cozy in the barn jug on this cold morning.
Our sheep are out on pasture from early May through November each year, with access to new fresh grass every few days and shelter under the pasture hedgerow.
Young lambs are curious of the photographer.
The pregnant ewes spend the winter months comfy and munching hay in the barnyard
All age groups are out on pasture in early spring. The young lambs like the warm rock outcrop in the pasture.
Poultry Photos
We built our chicken tractor a few years ago to give our broilers and turkeys access to fresh grass and shade all summer long. When we move our birds, they excitedly forage for insects and tender grass shoots, and don’t even notice the grain troughs. And we normally only find them inside during the heat of mid-day and for nighttime-roosting.
