Free Range/Ungraded Farm-Fresh Eggs
We keep a small, mixed breed flock of free range chickens to provide farm fresh eggs to our customers year-round. These ‘girls’ can be found outdoors even on the coldest of winter days visiting with the other barnyard animals and foraging for insects. We feed antibiotic and hormone-free grain to our laying flock.
Pasture Raised Whole Chickens    Â
We annually raise 100-200 meat birds by rotationally grazing small groups throughout our pastures following our larger livestock. The birds receive only antibiotic and hormone-free grain and lots of summer food scraps and garden gleanings. Thanks to feedback from our faithful customers last year, we chose to raise Cornish Roasters- valued for quality flavor and slower growth tendencies than the Cornish X Rock. We will also be selling smaller birds, ranging from 5-8 pounds. We humanely process each bird on our farm throughout the summer and store frozen in the farm’s retail freezer.
Pasture Raised Holiday Turkeys
We raise a couple dozen heritage and commercial breed turkeys for our table and yours during the holiday season. This year we have Bourbon Red, Standard Bronze, and Giant White species available. We are looking forward to the beautiful array of colorful plumage out on the land. These turkeys are rotationally grazed throughout our pastures following our larger livestock. They only receive fresh green grass, hormone and antibiotic free grain and lots of summer food scraps and garden gleanings. We humanely process each bird on our farm in November and can offer fresh or frozen birds for pick up at the farm.

Turkey- ACCEPTING ORDERS FOR 2012.
We will have 14-22# turkeys available for the 2010 holiday season (fresh if purchased in Mid-November; frozen if purchased later).
The traditional Giant White turkeys are $3.00 per pound.
The heritage varietals Bourbon Red and Standard Bronze are $4.00 per pound.Â

Chicken- FROZEN BIRDS AVAILABLE FOR 2012.
We currently offer freshly frozen 5-8 pound birds for sale at the farm for $3.00 per pound. Orders are currently available for pick up at the VTC Farmers Market (Wednesdays from 3 to 6 pm), at our farm, or by special arrangement deliveries.
These birds are a bit smaller than last year -- based on customer feedback -- taste tender and juicy, and will make for a great dinner party meal (with leftovers)!
